Study In Asia!
St. Lawrence University programs:
In collaboration with the St. Lawrence University Center for International and Intercultural Studies, the Asian Studies Program provides opportunities for study abroad in China, Japan, and India. St. Lawrence also has an agreement with ISEP, the International Student Exchange Program, which means that ISEP is considered an SLU program, so students pay SLU tuition and your financial aid is applied. Isep has programs in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Thailand.

Non-St. Lawrence University Programs:
The International Partnership for Service-Learning offers programs that combine rigorous academic studies and substantive volunteer service. The program in India is based in Calcutta or New Delhi. The educational component consists of a 3-week session of two seminars and continues with an interdisciplinary course called “Perspectives on India.” The service component consists of 20 hours a week. Housing is provided with middle-class Indian families.
The Philippines program is based at Trinity College of Quezon City. You will choose courses from the regular offerings there, and you will live on campus in a dorm or student guest house. The service component, about 15 hours a week, will be working with the local people and those in need.
The program in Thailand is at Payap University in Chiang Mai, in the north of Thailand. Students live with a Thai family or in university housing. The service component of your stay in Thailand will include at least 150 hours of volunteer service to the community. This service may include work with orphanages, schools for the deaf and blind, environmental programs, etc. Additionally, field trips will be offered to study mountain towns and villages as well as famous temples in the surrounding areas.
