I occasionally teach a course on the environmental history of East Asia, and for the last three years I’ve been teaching elementary Chinese in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
Research Interests:
- Hainan (southern Chinese island)
- Ming and early Qing periods of Chinese History
- traditional Chinese poetry
